Eli…

We are NOT looking for a forever home for Elijah at this time. Perhaps some day with the right person we will find a perfect fit, but for now this is his Sanctuary. What Eli needs is a sponsor, someone to assist with his vetting needs, upkeep and perhaps even an occasional visit to assist in his behavior rehabilitation.

Eli is a very nervous and sensitive dog who learned at a very young age that the best defense is a strong offense. When threatened, frightened, or cornered, even if only in his own perception, he believes that a strong and assertive demonstration is his only recourse. This does not set well with most people and can be quite unnerving, however when one is courageous and persistent enough to overcome his fears, Eli can be the most loving and affectionate dog you could ever hope to meet.

I have always believed that for every dog, regardless of temperament or behavior, somewhere in this world there is a person, there is a home for that dog. Now time has taught me that there is no guarantee that home will be found. For these dogs the Rescue Ranch becomes their home. I have had a dog live here for over 9 years before finding that perfect home. I never gave up on that dog and I will not give up on Eli. And who knows, maybe someone reading this will be that one person in all the world for Eli, and Eli be the dog they need to make their world complete.
